The Canine Crew Team
About myself – I have owned and loved dogs all my life, we always had dogs in my family when I was growing up, mostly Goldies. At present I have two, a Border Collie called Zelda who is now 6 and a rescue Jack Russell X Foxhound called Dexter who is approximately 10/11. I also have a Hermanns Tortoise who keeps the dogs ‘in check’ out in the garden during the summer months. I love walking in the countryside and am always exploring new places to walk. Most of our holidays are spent in the Scottish Highlands and of course, the dogs come too.
As mentioned I previously worked with another well respected Dog Walker for over 5 years (together with Em, Abi & Abbie) and loved it so much that when she decided to close her business I set up Canine Crew Billingshurst.
Abbie, is my daughter who helps me every day. We usually walk together as she cannot yet drive, but also walks dogs independently if required. Abbie finished a 3 Year Animal Management Course at Brinsbury College in June 2024 ending up with a Merit in Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Animal Management for her hard work.
She has lived with our family dogs her entire life and is a complete natural with the doggie clients. She loves photography and most of the daily photos on our Facebook page are taken by her, with a little help from the rest of us.
Lauren joined us in Autumn 22 and is a very valuable member of our team. She has a gorgeous Doberman girl called Lola, the sweetest most gentle dog. Lauren is herself, a Self-Employed Dog Walker (and Lingerie Designer!) and helps us out when required and is fantastic with the bigger, more lively dogs.
Abi helps us out on most Thursdays & Fridays during Term time, when we need her, she is also a Self Employed Author and also works as a Teaching Assistant for a local school the rest of the week. She has two dogs of her own, a Lurcher and a Labrador and a young family – so a very busy lady! She has a very kind and gentle way with the dogs and they love her.
Karen is ‘Lauren’s mum’ and is a retired Community Nurse. She helps us out with the smaller dogs as and when we need her for which we are really grateful. Being a retired nurse she has a wonderful caring nature and the dogs lover her.
Em used to help every day when we first started but due to personal circumstance’s is now available to help on Tuesdays and Thursdays if we need her. She is a massive animal lover and has three cats whom she adores and a busy family life. Em also used to work with me and the previous walker so has plenty of experience, mainly with the smaller Crew members. Em also helps me with the Cat Feeding visits and certainly has plenty of experience in the Feline department.
